Each winter, volunteers come out to Lamberton Lake, bundled in warm clothes and armed with loppers, to restore the fen. Lamberton Lake Fen is threatened by takeover by invasive glossy buckthorn and years of diligent work have started to show amazing sings of success. We'll warm up after the workday at Hideout brewery, just down the road from the preserve.
This training session is required for any volunteers who wish to participate in the Land Conservancy led prescribed burns and will provide all the information you will need to have to be a member of a burn crew. Prior experience is not required.
March is a beautiful time to visit Minnie Skwarek Nature Preserve, when the early spring wildflowers start to emerge. But in order for the native plants to thrive, we need your help to remove invasive shrubs, like multiflora rose, at the preserve.
