Old-Growth Forest Network Recognition of Richmond Woods Nature Preserve

March 21 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

This International Day of Forests, join the Old-Growth Forest Network and the Land Conservancy of West Michigan for a guided hike to welcome Richmond Woods Nature Preserve into the Old-Growth Forest Network.

The event will begin with a brief ceremony featuring remarks from the Land Conservancy of West Michigan and the Old-Growth Forest Network staff. We will follow the ceremony with an interpretive 1.4 mile hike of the preserve’s loop trails. The hike will showcase the 120-acre preserve’s oak/pine forests, savannas, bogs, and wetlands. Staff will lead a discussion on how they’re taking the longview to restore a future for old trees and the rare birds and wildlife that depend on them.

This event will happen rain or shine – please come dressed for the weather.
