Your favorite parks and natural areas are protected through teamwork. The Land Conservancy of West Michigan often partners with government and community organizations to support their acquisition of natural land for protection and public use. Such partnerships were crucial in the protection of Cascade Peace Park in Ada. In 2010, the Land Conservancy worked together with the Cascade Charter Township Board, The Nature Conservancy, and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Trust Fund to protect the 198 acres of wetlands, Grand River floodplain, forests, and meadows that make up the scenic park.
Join former Land Conservancy of West Michigan Executive Director Joe Engel and former Cascade Township Supervisor Rob Beahan for a guided exploration of Cascade Peace Park. Joe and Rob will highlight the park’s unique history and the importance of collaboration in protecting it for all to enjoy.
Please register to attend. We will meet in the parking lot of Cascade Peace Park at 8900 Grand River Ave. SE, Ada, MI 49301.
