Invasive species removal in a blizzard? Now that’s dedication!

It was Valentine’s Day and Grand Rapids was getting pummeled with blizzard conditions.

But that didn’t stop a group of rock star volunteers from spending the morning at Lamberton Lake Fen Nature Preserve, working to remove the invasive glossy buckthorn.

Just look at these committed volunteers working to save the fen from invasive species.

But they kept on smiling!

And check out these giant piles of buckthorn that they removed!

A huge thank you goes out to this awesome group who showed their Valentine’s Day love for Lamberton Lake Fen Nature Preserve.  It takes more than a blizzard to slow down our dedicated volunteers!
